Met up with some ex-KW folks last weekend for some drinking.

Aaron Ohlsen is currently a student teacher at Meridian Middle School. He says his students continually guess his age at "34". I told him he should shave his facial hair if he wants them to believe that he's only 22.

Andy Krueger is in the Navy and his tour should be up pretty quickly here. Last I heard he was taking it seriously and may stay in as career, but mainly wants to use it to pay for college.

Craig Severson is still off the radar. Rumor has it that he was stationed in Afghanistan (Marines) but I can't verify that with anyone.

Mike Defoe seems to be all right. Living at home for the time being, he's working somewhere around Kent. I believe he's finishing a BA at WSU.

Dustin Foster is coaching the 7th grade football team at Meridian. Apparently they just lost to Meeker becuase of "2 really large and fast 7th graders". I think he's kidding himself but whatever...He finished his BA and is pursuing a Masters in teaching. Works full-time as a tech for the Kent School District.

Carl Bailey Jr. is trained as a bartender and waits tables at Newport Bay in South Center. We like to stop by and heckle him (check out the happy hour-- $2.49 food!). He's done with his BA and is here as a stopping ground before her pursues graduate education (we think).

And after Jeff Dye left town to become a "face model" in LA seems that Red Robin in Kent is finally devoid of people from KW class of 2001.

That Josh Twilley guy works right down the block from me on Northlake. He works as a drafter (and a damn good one too) for Waterfront Construction. He still curses like a sailor.

Myself? I'm happily empoyed by TPN, a production company that manages corporate events, large-scale trade exhibits and merchandising for a variety of companies. I currently manage the Nintendo account but I split my time assisting with odd-ball projects for Boeing, Microsoft and wherever else I get assigned. I travel within the US a lot and some international travel coming up-- a job doing 6 weeks in Paris next February.

lol..I'm sure I'm the one who updates this the most but I think its nifty. If you've got any news or contributions please leave a comment or start a new thread.

Only have an update on myself.

Graduated with a BS in Physics, and a minor in Mathematics (2 credits from a Bachelor's, but..long story). Spent a few weeks in Austria, visiting my girlfriend (she's from a village in the Austrian Alps)...she's finishing her physics thesis this year. I'm working at the seismology lab still, will be here for the next year or so. I'll likely be going to grad school either in pure physics, or atmospheric/surface physics.

I still hang out with Mike, but he reads this and he can update it himself. We were at Red Robin on Saturday, and he said something about the whereabouts of Jeff Dye...guess this answers that.

Oh, actually, I also saw Amanda Brackett (sp?) working at Big 5 on Benson a while back. Didn't really talk to her, though.

I graduated from UW with a BA in English Lit and Political Science. I spent the summer with Ashley, who graduated with an MBA (crazy overachiever...) in San Diego. I currently live in Washington DC and am working at the National Endowment for the Arts' literary division while I look for publishing jobs in New York. If I don't than I'll get my MFA and hopefully get something published.

Other people I've heard about:
Melanie Lynn was in Kuwait and now she's in the Bahamas doing some business/international consulting thing.
Cassie Kosty lives in Seattle and teaches at a Korean school.
Melinda Herrin just got back from Europe and starts at an engineering firm in Seattle on Monday.
Katie Peyer is at the University of New Mexico for pharmacy school.
Barbara Larson has another year of school, as does Liz Miller, as does Kevin McElheran.
Kyle Pleasant's in NY being an actor (duh).
Andy Dunloy is getting married!! I'm lighting the candles at his wedding in March.
Joel Peterson was counting fish in Astoria, but now he's living in Bellingham collecting unemployment and being a self proclaimed "deadbeat boyfriend". Haaaa ha. Love that guy.

Guess that's it.

Graduated from UW with a B.S. in Economics and B.A. in Accounting and interned with a Big 4 public accounting firm this summer. I'm graduating this June with my Masters in Tax and starting full-time at the firm next October.

- Kyle and Lindsay McClellan just bought a house in Renton, they're doing well, Kyle's at Boeing and Lindsay's at Quadrant.
- Marc Hayashi is in dental school, University of Pennsylania if I recall correctly. He's enjoying it last I heard.
- Shane Kline is back in Kent, last I spoke with him he was talking about becoming a welder, taking night classes at Renton Tech.
- Charles Sipe is going into his junior year at the UW, studying business (Marketing and Entrepreneurship I think). He's doing well, enjoying life in Seattle. He's living somewhere up on Greek row with his brother and a friend.

I'm still at UW finishing up in Communication. I'm taking longer because I'm also doing a minor in philosophy and comparative religion. I'm also a supervisor at Pacific Market Research in Renton, and I plan on staying in Kent until next year/when I finish school.

Jeff Dye is pursuing a career in stand up comedy. I know he's played a few dates at Giggles. More info at his Myspace: www.myspace.com/jditty

I just finished my B.A. at Western, majoring in history. Right now I'm working as a debate judge for Auburn Riverside & at the Kent Walgreens across from 24 Hour Fitness and Sharis, all the while waiting to hear back from prospective grad schools and/or Teach For America.

Other cats:
* Mike Williams is in the marines.
* Jenine Hutsell is studying to become a teacher at Western, as are a couple other 2001 Kentwood grads whose names totally aren't coming to me right now. =/
* Megan Argetsinger is working for Guy Carpenter & Co.
* Mike Jensen made the front page of the Seattle Times sports section today - he's still playing basketball for UW, although he's hurt his shoulder and will miss the first part of the season.

And a personal update-

I just got back from a 13 month internship in the DC/Northern VA area.

I'll be finishing my Chemical Engineering degree this June at UW.

In other news...
To my knowledge, Katrina Nanninga is quite pregnant (and married), and Rachel Trieber (who is also a member of this community) is now marrried.

I live with Angela White, and she's finishing her Psych degree this year. And interestingly enough, as we were walking down the street today, we passed Joe Helm.

Apparently I'm slower than everyone else seeing as it's been a month, but I enjoyed hearing about everyone!

Sheena pretty much summed it up, but I'm workig for PricewaterhouseCoopers in San Diego, and am 1 test away from getting my CPA.

I can't fill you in on anyone else b/c I never run into anyone down here - except for Sheena all summer long.

I'm glad to hear there are so many kids going into teaching! We need good teachers.

BTW - does anybody think it's weird that we're 1/2 way to a 10 year reunion?
